Zero knowledge proof
A zero-knowledge (ZK) proof is a method which allows a prover to demonstrate to a verifier that they know a particular piece of information (witness) satisfying certain properties, without revealing that information to the verifier.
zk-SNARK
Zero-knowledge Succinct Non-interactive Argument of Knowledge. A zk-SNARK is a particular kind of zero knowledge proof whose proofs are short and easy to verify.
